Kidney & transplant patients are invited to an annual patient & family celebration day where sessions on maintaining a healthy life-style are presented along with entertainment and fellowship opportunities. This is a free event open to all Nebraska kidney and transplant patients. The 2008 Pat/Fam Day took place on April 12 in Lincoln. The 2009 event will take place in Omaha. |

Educational Programs |

The Kidney Health & Education Program (K-HEP) is designed to provide elementary school students with a better understanding of kidney disease and its treatments, including transplantation. The program is provided free of charge to Nebraska schools and increases the awareness of the importance of organ donation. For more information click here or e-mail: nkfn@charter.net.

Emergency financial aid is available to kidney and transplant patients with a demonstrated need. All requests for financial aid must originate with the patient’s assigned social worker. |

Free medic-alert jewelry is available to kidney and transplant patients. All requests for jewelry, available in both bracelets and necklaces, must originate with the patient’s assigned social worker. |
